Terms of use

Updated September 26, 2026

These terms govern the use of the Threecle app and the threecle.com website. By creating an account, you accept them. We kept them short and readable; the community rules, in section 5, matter most.

1. Threecle in short

Threecle is a social network built around three circles: Close friends, Acquaintances and Community. It is published by Théodore Paliani, as an individual (see the legal notice).

Threecle is in beta: features may change, disappear or have bugs. It is free; if paid options ever appear, their terms will be shown to you before any payment.

2. Who can use Threecle

You must be at least 13 years old. Between 13 and 15, you need the consent of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms with you.

An account belongs to one real person. The information you give must be accurate, and you are responsible for what happens on your account: keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has access.

3. Circles and visibility

Each post is visible to the circle you pick. Community is visible to everyone, and it is the only circle whose posts can be repinged, meaning reposted on someone else’s profile.

The circle you put someone in is never shown to them.

Respect other people’s circles: don’t share outside Threecle, by screenshot or otherwise, what someone showed you in a circle without their consent.

4. Your content

What you post belongs to you. So that it can be shown, you grant Threecle a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, reproduce, adapt (for example compress a video) and display your content, solely to run the service and according to the circle you picked. For Community, you also agree that other members may reping your posts.

This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, subject to technical deletion delays.

You confirm you have the right to post what you post: photos and videos of people with their consent, music and works you hold the rights to.

5. Community rules

Threecle should stay a place where people feel good. You may not post, send or do:

If someone is in immediate danger, call emergency services (112 in Europe). In France, 3114 answers people in distress and their loved ones, day and night.

6. Reporting and moderation

In the app, the “Report” button is available on profiles, posts, comments and messages, and you can block someone at any time. Without an account, you can report content through the contact form.

Every report is reviewed by a person. Depending on how serious it is, we may remove content, restrict some features, or suspend or delete an account. We explain our decisions, and you can challenge them through the contact form. Serious offences, especially those that threaten people’s life or safety, are reported to the authorities.

We don’t review content before it is posted, but we act quickly on what is reported to us.

7. Your account

You can delete your account at any time from the app. It disappears for others right away; you have 30 days to change your mind by logging back in, then it is permanently erased (see the privacy policy).

We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms, especially for serious or repeated violations.

8. Liability

Threecle is provided as is during its beta. We do our best to keep it running and your data protected, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available.

Everyone is responsible for what they post. Threecle hosts its members’ content and acts promptly once illegal content is reported to it.

Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under the law, in particular as a consumer.

9. The Threecle brand

The Threecle name, logo, design and code are protected. You may not reuse them without permission.

10. Changes

If these terms change significantly, we will tell you in the app at least 30 days in advance, unless the law or a security reason requires otherwise. If you disagree, you can delete your account; by continuing to use Threecle, you accept the new version.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. If you disagree with us, write to us first: most issues get solved that way. Failing that, the dispute will go before the competent courts; if you are a consumer, you keep the protection granted by the law of your country of residence.

12. Contact us

A question about these terms: the contact form. It is also our single point of contact under the EU Digital Services Act (DSA), for members and authorities alike, in French or English.
